CyclePel is an iPad cycling training app that connects to Bluetooth® smart trainers and sensors to display real-time metrics and control workouts. We designed CyclePel to respect your privacy. This policy explains what data the app uses, how it is processed, and your choices.
Summary
- CyclePel does not create accounts, use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking.
- Your workout data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s Core Data.
- No personal data is transmitted to our servers because we do not operate any servers for CyclePel.
Data the App Uses
CyclePel processes the following data locally to provide core functionality:
- Workout Metrics: power (watts), cadence (RPM), and optional heart rate (BPM) received from connected Bluetooth devices.
- Device Information: Bluetooth device identifiers (e.g., peripheral UUID), name, and signal strength (RSSI) to manage connections.
- App Settings: user preferences such as FTP, weight, and unit settings.
- Workout Records: completed session summaries and templates you create.
CyclePel does not integrate with Apple Health (HealthKit) and does not send your data to any external service.
How We Use Data
- To connect to supported Bluetooth trainers and sensors and display live metrics during workouts.
- To control trainer resistance (ERG mode) when requested by the user.
- To store and present workout history and analytics on your device.
- To remember your preferences (FTP, weight, units) for better training guidance.
Data Storage and Retention
- All data is stored locally on your iPad within the app’s sandbox using Core Data.
- You can remove all locally stored data by deleting the app from your device.
Sharing and Transfers
CyclePel does not share, sell, or transfer your data to third parties. No data leaves your device.
Permissions
- Bluetooth: required to discover and connect to trainers and sensors. The permission prompt explains this usage.
Children’s Privacy
CyclePel is not directed toward children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, please contact us so we can help address the situation.
Your Choices
- You can disconnect devices at any time from the in-app Devices screen.
- You can remove all app data by uninstalling CyclePel from your device.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect product or legal changes. The “Last updated” date will always indicate the latest revision.
